Description Lastique 2014-06-22 21:48:09 UTC
Navigating between messages with arrow keys doesn't always work when a composer window is open in the background.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kmail.
2. Click on an email and the Reply button. Composer window will open.
3. Switch back to the main Kmail window (I use Alt+Tab).
4. Try to navigate the message list with left and right arrow keys.
Actual Results:
Navigation doesn't work. I can click on different messages to ensure the focus is on the message list, but arrow keys still don't work. Sometimes the keys will work for a few seconds after opening the composer but eventually they will stop working.

After closing the composer window, the keys still don't work until I switch to another folder in my mailbox.

Expected Results:
Navigation should always work.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

I can still reproduce this bug in Kubuntu 16.04 x86_64, Kmail 5.1.3.

Hello Lastique,
I cannot reproduce this on KMail from master, in both sessions (X11 and Wayland).
Is this still reproducible for you with current KMail?
Comment 4 Lastique 2020-12-20 20:11:01 UTC
I'm no longer using KMail.

Thank you for your input. :)
Closing this since it works now and there seems to have been no duplicates since.
