As you can see on the screenshot, in Muon package list, KRunner output window and in Kickstarter menu fonts are a bit blured, while in other programs they look fine. I can get this result globally if I disable subpixel hinting (rgb) in fonts settings. So, some KDE applications do not respect my Subpixel Hinting settings. They are also set in /etc/fonts/conf.d/. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable Subpixel Hinting (rgb) in fonts configuration 2. Open Kickstarter menu, Muon or type a query in Krunner (Alt+F2) 3. Look at the fonts Actual Results: Fonts look like in other applications and they use Subpixel Hinting Expected Results: They seem to ignore Subpixel Hinting settings. I also noticed, that in some distros (for example, Gentoo) with Xfce, KDE or pure WM GTK-applications ignore subpixel hinting. Probably, there are some relations?
https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-22334
Qt is no longer nokia's, as I know. Here https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-22334 this bug doesn't seem to be resolved. Which version of Qt should I try?
I think the change was introduced in Qt 4.8, so you could try Qt 4.7.
The issue also appears in the K menu and desktop settings dialog Here are screenshots http://s16.postimg.org/pcy077gf9/kde_menu.png http://s12.postimg.org/xtvcm230d/kde_desktop_settings.png
