Description Dima Ryazanov 2014-06-06 19:10:56 UTC
I've been using Display Configuration for a while - but I started having problems now. I have a laptop monitor (LVDS1) with an external monitor (DP1) to the right of it; see the screenshot of the config. After applying the changes, I get the correct screen resolution - but not the offsets. Both monitors start at 0x0, so the laptop monitor just shows a part of the external monitor, and I effectively have a single screen.

Here's the output of xrandr:

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 2560 x 1440, maximum 32767 x 32767
LVDS1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 293mm x 164mm
   1366x768 60.0 + 40.0
   1360x768 59.8 60.0
   1024x768 60.0
   800x600 60.3 56.2

   1280x720 60.0 50.0 59.9
   1024x768 75.1 60.0

   720x576 50.0
   720x480 60.0 59.9
   640x480 75.0 60.0 59.9
   720x400 70.1
VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
   (0x48) 71.0MHz
        h: width 1366 start 1414 end 1446 total 1498 skew 0 clock 47.4KHz
        v: height 768 start 769 end 773 total 790 clock 60.0Hz

When I ran "xrandr --output DP1 --right-of LVDS1", it worked as expected. Display Configurations keeps showing the old setup, though, and doesn't do anything if I change it and click "Apply".

Reproducible: Didn't try

Can you confirm whether this is still valid with latest Plasma 5 (5.2.1)?

I haven't seen this issue myself, and there were many many changes and improvements in KScreen, that should resolve problems like this.
