Description Malte Eggers 2014-06-05 07:06:58 UTC
Since I started using KF5, I had both kwallet-4.12.5 and kwallet-4.99.0 (now 4.100.0) installed. KDE4 apps kept working, although I manually had to reconnect kmail every now and then. Plasma-nm, current my only KF5 application, kept promting me for passwords of known WiFis.
To fix the problem, I tried killing kwalletd and launching kwalletd5 instead as well as updating kwalletmanager to latest git in order to work with kwalletd5.
Now, I think since I created a wallet for version 5, KMail effectively stopped working, as it doesn't even prompt me for a password anymore and also plasma-nm didn't start working, independent of what version of the daemon I'm running. KTP prompts or a password when version 5 is running (also, the checkbox "remember password" is gray) and works normally when version 4 is running.
Since kwalletd and kwalletd5 cannot run at the same time, shouldn't kwalletd5 also be backwards compatible?
Please let me know what other information would be useful to you.

Reproducible: Always
