In Kubuntu 14.04 (KDE 4.13), installed comics are not displayed by the comic plasmoid. They also don't show up in the list of installed comics in the plasmoid's configuration dialogue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add the comic widget to your plasma desktop 2. Click on "Configure" 3. Click on "Download new Comics" (or similar, my system language is German) 4. Select one or more comics to install. I tried "Calvin and Hobbes", "xkcd" and "NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day". Actual Results: Installed comics do not show up in the main configuration window. The area above the download button remains empty. If you click "Apply" and close the configuration dialogue, the plasmoid doesn't show a comic, either. It just displays the "Configure" button as before. Expected Results: Installed comics should appear as a list in the area above the download button in the configuration dialogue. After clicking "Apply" and exiting the dialogue, comics should be displayed by the plasmoid.
A workaround is to search for comic.knsrc on your system and to modify the InstallationCommand and UninstallCommand lines to: InstallationCommand=plasmapkg -t comic -i %f && kbuildsycoca4 UninstallCommand=plasmapkg -t comic -r %f && kbuildsycoca4 I don't know yet if updating comics works then, I need to investigate that.
Thanks, that worked for me. I'll check if updating works, as well.
