Description J Brauchle 2014-05-28 12:44:28 UTC
I have a multimonitor setup with

1) laptop screen at 1920x1080
2) two attached screens with 1280x1024 each.

After booting openSUSE13.1 with KDE4.10.5. installed, the login prompt seems to fit the 1920x1080 screen and is cloned to the other two monitors.

Hence, on the two 1280x1024 screens, the login box is shifted to the right (not a problem), but the poweroff/shutdown buttons at the bottom of the login screen are cut off.

Hence, I suggest that KDM scales the login dialog to the absolute MINIMUM of all dimensions of all available screens, which would immedately result in 1280x1024 in my case, but may be a combination of minimum x and y dimensions of multiple screens.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Multi-Monitor setup with different monitor resolutions
2. Start KDM login manager
Actual Results:
Login screen is cloned but not fitting minimum dimensions of all screens, hence some buttons may be cut off on some screens

Expected Results:
KDM should be cloned to all screens and scaled such that it fits minimum dimensions and nothing is cut off.

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
