Description arne anka 2014-05-28 08:42:29 UTC
using kmail for the first time since ages, i created an account (unsing the account wizard), whcih more or less worked. kmail opened with both the new account and an account called "Local Folders" -- which purpose is not explained.
tried to send a test mail, openend the composer, added the From field and there's
"my first name my last name <>" (note the missing email address inside the pointed braces!)

there's no easy way to select the address and name instead of the newly created account.
i insert a valid To address and some text and hit Send.
mail never arrives, but stays in the Outbox of the Local Folders account.

try again, this time i insert the newly created account's email address and hold for an insane amount of time the little down arrow on the Sedn button until finally a dropdwon with my account opens.

select the account -- same game. mail ends up in Local Folders outbox and never arrives

this Local folders account is clearly useless -- i didn't create it, it makes no sens and apparently it greedily grabs every mail that comes its way without being able to deliver it.

- i'd expect to be able to select as From and account, not being presented with an text feld where i have to type it (assuming it works at all -- couldn't check)
- i'd certainly do NOT expect there to be a non functional, never configured account to appear (the more so as that nonsensical account doesn't even have a mail address set)
- i do not expect that Local Folder stuff at all -- it's confusing and makes no sense.
- i'd at least expect my mails to be send by a working account instead of ending up in that Local Folder structure

Reproducible: Always
