I've been pleased to report this bug, i hope my english is good enough. After a new set up of my nas, there are hundreds of file named like baloo-xattr-check-{****************************} (~250 - 400 Files). I've been told a send a copy of a part of my fstab... //192.168.xxx.xxx/xxx /mnt/xxxxx cifs rw,username=xxx, password=xxx, users, uid=xxx iocharset=utf8 0 0 Reproducible: Always
Symptons confirmed here after installing the kubuntu-desktop package in 14.04. Happens on mounted cifs thru fstab only. In Linux Mint Maya (KDE) this behaviour was not present.
It's also a problem with seafile daemon: [06/27/14 15:21:11] wt-monitor-linux.c(102): Failed to stat /home/cloud/Seafile/Vidéos/baloo-xattr-check-{92884191-e37f-481f-9a91-1dc93963b15f}: No such file or directory. Created attachment 87511 [details] extraneous baloo-xattr-check files list of baloo files in fstab mounted cifs/smb directory.
With 5.1 we only allow tagging on file systems which support xattr.
