Description Michel 2014-05-16 14:15:16 UTC
Hi,
here my distribution:
more /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=precise
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS"

I'm using 2 screens with KDE13.0. When I open a PDF or other document with OKULAR my screens are blinking and my CPU is going UP (50%).
If type okular in Konsole, nothing happen. Okular is open and my screens are not blinking

Thanks for you support.

What do you mean by blink? Can you record a video of it with your phone or something?
Comment 2 Michel 2014-05-21 09:25:19 UTC
Thks Albert
blinking I mean black flash like a twinkle with hight CPU using. That 's impacting Xorg I believe.
 How to sent the video ?

Record a video with your phone, upload it to youtube. Or any of the other million ways the internet has given us to share videos.

Here the video :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fef2ZzKmMV4

That's very strange because it's working since two week until I launched Okular. Now I can not have double screen any more. I reboot twince my PC.
When I configured the second screen, the process Xorg is growing up to 30% of the CPU and the screen is blinking as you can watch.

Thank for your help and support.

These both commands fixed my problem :

qdbus org.kde.kded /kded org.kde.kded.unloadModule kscreen
qdbus org.kde.kded /kded org.kde.kded.setModuleAutoloading kscreen false

Should I un-install kscreen?

Hello Albert,

OK When I launch OKULAR, I've got the same event.
When I launch acrobat reader I've no problem
Thanks for your support/

If you get this blinking behaviour without okular, this is not an okular bug.

Please open a bug against kscreen since you seem to have isolated the fact that it is the thing that is making your screen blink.
