- What I was doing when the application crashed:

1. Enabled network time server.

2. Set UTC as the system time

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

1. Kubuntu 14.04, 64 bit, Operating System repeatedly failed after two or three startups and sometimes never started up and had to be reinstalled.

2. Even after reinstalling the OS it continued to fail.

3. The last time the OS failed was just before this problem occurred.

4. The OS reported the following information among several others when it failed:

4.1. Kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.13.0/mm/filemap.c: 1371

4.2. invlid opcode: 0000[#2]SMP

etc., etc.

4.1. Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exit code: 0x0000000b

4.2. drm_kms_helper: panicoccurred, switching bact to text mode

5. Thereafter, the OS remained stuck and was restarted by powering down and powering up again. The current failure occurred shortly thereafter.

6.1. Processors: 4 x Intel Core i5 CPU M 450 @ 2.40 GHz.

6.2. Memory: 3.7 GiB of RAM

6.3. Computer System: Toshiba Notebook, Satelite, L676-01R
