I run Plasma Next through the Neon 5 ISO using a pendrive. The problem is that the keyboard layout remains on US even if I select IT. I noticed this trying to activate my wifi and then noticed that the password was declared as wrong, then I selected to show the password and noticed that there was the "?" instead of "_", so I tried to modify the keyboard layout. Even if I click on "Apply" the keyboard layout still remains on US. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log in with the default credential (no password, just login) 2. Try to change the keyboard layout 3. Observe as the user's selection is ignored Actual Results: The keyboard layout remains on US even if it is selected IT Expected Results: The beyboard layout should be IT
I see in neon indeed the systray icon doesn't appear, and keyboard setting don't work. doesn't work in my local setup either, for oethers the problem doesn't happen
can you try the following thing from a terminal on neon? killall kded5 kded5 the keyboard indicator should appear If this is the case, looks like a bug in kded5 that happens only during automatic startup
Yeah, it works and the keyboard layout change properly using the keyboard indicator.
I haven't been seeing this recently, can you confirm if this is still a problem?
I tried with the last Neon ISO, neon5-201406200837. The problem is still there and the suggested workaround is still valid, so nothing changed from the last try. Regards, Valerio
Checked today with the neon5-201407041042, the problem is still there. Also the keyboard indicator doesn't appear.
I just forgot to say that the workaround still works: Killall kded5 Kded5 Also the keyboard indicator appears correctly using the workaround.
Hi, installed plasma 5.0.2 right now on F20. The issue above is still present. I added a different keyboard layout, clicked on apply. Nothing happens, I tried to use ctrl+alt+k to switch on the US layout but nothing change, still keep my previous layout.
Hi guys, the keyboard layout change window works very good now (Plasma 5.1). The icon in the system tray appears every time I have more than one layout and disappears if I have just one. To me, this bug is fixed in Plasma 5.1. Thank you.
