Description mikro 2014-05-10 20:04:49 UTC
This happens changing the window decoration to certain other windows decorations like Simplicity and Diamond. With Qtcurve

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to System Settings -> Workspace Appearance -> Window Decoration
2. From "Get new Decorations" install: 'Simplicity' or 'Diamond' select it and hit apply
3. Log out and try to Log in again to your account
Actual Results:
kde stops loading and the display freezes.
I can still access my virtual terminals and kill Xorg process. If, then, I delete my ~/.kde directory and repeat the log-on everything will been reset, as expected, but kde will load with no issues.

Expected Results:
To finish loading and present the desktop in a functional state.

While kde has stopped loading, executing TOP through a virtual terminal I can see that my CPU is almost idle.

- does the display "unfreeze" when you press "Shift+Alt+F12"?
- can you reproduce this with eg. the "laptop" decoration? (There's a capped "With Qtcurve" sentence ;-)

Hi.

- No, the display does not unfreeze when I press "Shift+Alt+F12".

- Changing to 'Laptop' or 'Qtcurve' windows decoration does not create any problem. I've checked them both and I could logout - login to my account without issues.

does it also affect the "plastik" decoration? (there's either a problem in qml processing or the aurorae decoration - i'm not just keeping you busy ;-)

are there by any chance qml related warnings in ~/.xsession-errors?

you are not by any chance running an input methods mechanism?

Yes, iBus.
It is running ( I see an indicator in System Tray ) and I do not know why.
I do not remember it to be there a few days ago.

One last thing:
Yes, changing to Plastik it gave me the same issue as Diamond or Simplicity.
This is the .xsessions-errors:
