Description wolthera 2014-05-07 08:07:28 UTC
Snap to grid, I had been told, only worked for vector shapes.

However, while vector shapes can be snapped to a grid, they don't actually snap to the grid of the grid-tool, but rather the px settings in the snap-settings docker.
Nothing can be snapped to the grid of the grid-tool.

Reproducible: Always

Yes, this is a known issue :-(. Grids are sadly undermaintained at the moment!

Just reading this report as someone mentionned it on irc, actually "snap to grid" doesn't even use the value in snap settings docker but the value set with the menu "Grid Spacing", value which is shown nowhere else… That makes indeed possible confusion for users, not very good.

Git commit 38bf885b9468b46767ffd680c25d370b0ffd9776 by Boudewijn Rempt.
Committed on 15/01/2015 at 12:17.
Pushed by rempt into branch 'calligra/2.9'.

Hide the snap-to-grid action, it's way too broken.

We'll have to redo grids/guides and snapping, I'm afraid. It's all such a mess. After 3.0, let's review the "Later" bugs and make a plan.
