I've installed konversation "1.5-master #4303" via MacPorts on OSX 10.9.2. When I start the app for the first time it's application icon appears in the OSX dock and all is fine. On subsequent starts of the app also an icon for kglobalaccel appears in the OSX dock and also stays there after closing konversation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log on to OSX 2. Start and close konversation 3. Start konversation the 2nd time Actual Results: Now next to konversation application icon an additional icon for kglobalaccel appears in the OSX dock. Expected Results: No extra kglobalaccel icon should appear, I guess, just like during the first start.
Created attachment 86388 [details] PNG demonstrating the issue
Turns out that the kglobalaccel icon didn't appear on the first start, because the program wasn't started in the first place: --- # Start konversation for the first time ... markos-imac:~ marko$ ps ax | grep kglobalaccel 1972 s003 S+ 0:00.00 grep kglobalaccel # There is no kglobalaccel # # Start konversation for the 2nd time... markos-imac:~ marko$ ps ax | grep kglobalaccel 1992 ?? S 0:00.27 /opt/local/bin/kglobalaccel 1994 s003 S+ 0:00.00 grep kglobalaccel # NOW there is kglobalaccel started AND THEREFORE popping up in the dock. --- I have not seen kglobalaccel appearing in the dock for any other KDE application on OSX up to now, but I can't say it's only specific for konversation.
Reassigning -- starting kglobalacceld is done by libraries below Konversation.
Please fill in your kdelibs version if you get a chance (see "About KDE" in Konversation's Help menu).
My KDE version is 4.12.4.
On OSX 10.6.8 kglobalaccel comes up *already* at the *first* start - also in the dock.
Bug 335881 says that also (unwanted) "kwalletd" icon is shown in system tray, in addition to the (wanted) "kwalletmanager" icon, so it might be a more general problem.
