kmail has the nice feature to open multiple tabls to display messages. So it is easy to switch between folders. In combination with applying an own quick filter to each tab, this is a powerfull feature, which I do not miss during my daily work. Unfortunately, when terminating and starting kmail again, it does not remember the previous set of tabs but open the window from scratch. So on every day this takes me several minutes to manually restore the session. I want that kmail remebers the opened tabs and restores them on a restart. The applied quick filter should be kept too. P.S. I am using kmail 4.8.5 but the input box does not support the correct version number. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start kmail 2. Open some subwindows for message in separate tabs and apply some quick filters 3. Stop kmail 4. Start kmail again Actual Results: kmail always starts with an empty message window. Any previously opened subwindows are lost. Expected Results: kmail remembers the message window. Any previously opened subwindows are restored including the quick filters.
Occurs in 5.0.3 also (framework 5.15.0, qt 54.2), kubuntu wily. What's the point of restoring empty view tabs?
Currently restoring empty tabs just recover the tab but the it would be good if kmail remembers the previously choosen folder and a filter instead of having a blank tab restored. Thus this is more like restoring a user session. This will increase productivity as almost the time I have a set of tabs dedicated to particular folders. Currently when restarting it needs a reasonable amount of time to restore the previous view. I would like this time to do other work while the computer could help me to save time.
Hi, Yep I know I work to improve tab support. And it's on my todo list. For the moment I don't understand why it's not restored... Regards
