This could mean the X server crashed. Could you check /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old if the X server indeed crashed?
Comment 2 Philippe ROUBACH 2014-04-26 12:14:53 UTC
here is the end of xorg.0.log.old :

i use
composite display mode : "opengl 3.1"
graphical system qt : "native"
nvidia 331.38
Comment 4 Christoph Feck 2014-04-26 12:49:23 UTC
Indeed the X server crashes.

If this crash is only reproducible with the NVIDIA binary drivers, report to NVIDIA developers. Otherwise, if this crash also happens when using nouveau/Mesa drivers, please report this bug to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/

It would help if you install debug symbols for the X server and provide an updated backtrace.

KWin developers may provide additional hints.

Try re-installing the NVIDIA drivers.

Not sure why a KDE update could mess with NVIDIA settings files.
Comment 7 Christoph Feck 2014-04-26 13:00:39 UTC
Could be cause by an update of the X server, not the KDE update.

See http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2014-04/msg00834.html
Comment 8 Thomas Lübking 2014-04-26 13:05:15 UTC
