Is you tablet working without the profile name changes? I'll have a look next week
I can not really reproduce this. If this error still exists, can you attach your ~/.kde4/share/config/tabletprofilesrc and .kde4/share/config/wacomtablet-kderc
If you can provide the information requested in comment #2, please add it.
To further investigate this issue, KDE developers need the information requested in comment #2. If you can provide it, or need help with finding that information, please add a comment.
I have this exact error. The files ~/.kde4/share/config/wacomtablet-kderc ~/.kde4/share/config/tabletprofilesrc do not exist in my system (Kubuntu 14.04). How do I create them?

The files > > ~/.kde4/share/config/wacomtablet-kderc > ~/.kde4/share/config/tabletprofilesrc > > do not exist in my system (Kubuntu 14.04). How do I create them? Both files should be created automatically. Do you have the folder ~/.kde4/share/config/ with all the other kde specific configurations at all? Is the kded wacom daemon running?
I have been dealing with this issue all morning. The problem was that /usr/share/kde4/apps/wacomtablet/data/wacom_devicelist Did not have my device. I downloaded http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/wacom+tablet?content=114856 and the README had some instructions on how to add your device. Now the files are there and the settings work for the stylus and eraser. Touch still doesn't work, but even xsetwacom reports it is on so I don't know if that's a problem with this GUI or not.
