If you create a sticky note and painting the expected space for it onto the PDF file and add the text in it, the note borders will be nearly doubled in length and width. I would like o see the note is shrinking or growing depending on the amount of space the content in it is use. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a sticky note and paint it in size you expect for the amount of space the content will be use 2. add text to it 3. click on ok after adding text 4. the borders grows even if there is enough space to show the fully content Actual Results: the note grows unexpectedly Expected Results: the note grows or shrink depending on the amount of space the content requires
The Status explanation says nothing about whether a user or a developer can change the status to confirmed. Anyway, I can confirm the behavior of sticky notes growing uncontrollable which makes it almost useless, but at least very time consuming. I would like to know if you're refering to missing auto-line break feature of sticky notes, i.e. whether this is your actual problem (I don't get the explanation of the expected results - I guess it's necessary to be able to limit the width of the note and let it auto break its content optionally based on whitespace or after x signs).
krichter722, if an automatic line-break will help to fit the space the note take by it's content then it would make sense to add this. Any way the result should be that a sticky note does not grow over the page borders and calculates its size depending on the content and the the necessary margins. Alex
closed bug due to to feedback from development. Checking current Okular seem the handle annotation and sticky notes, notes and other note items better, whereas the overall performance and responsiveness of Okular when adding notes could be much better. In its current form it takes about 1-2 seconds after left clicking a PDf for placing a note or annotation to the selected text or picture.
