Description Kyle 2014-04-22 13:58:43 UTC
After upgrading from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04, when I logged in to KDE it locked up after a few seconds of rendering the desktop. I tried logging in a number of times with the same results.

I renamed my .kde directory and I was able to log into KDE again without any problems. As soon as I change the window decorations to anything other than the default (eg. Plastik), KDE locks up again upon logging in.

I have customized my desktop in other ways and they don't pose a problem. The only issue seems to be related to the window decorations.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change window decoration to 'Plastik' (tried it w/ Chrome theme as well)
2. Log out
3. Log in
Actual Results:
Desktop seems responsive for a few seconds then the screen locks up (except for the mouse pointer).

- does the desktop respond after suspending compositing (Shift+Alt+F12)?
- does it also happen with the "laptop" deco (or qtcurve, bespin, skulpture, dekorator - in case you've any installed)?
