There should be a windows installer for Marble 1.7.0. Reproducible: Always
Hey Dennis, I saw your installer for 1.8.3, but I cannot get it to work. http://nienhueser.de/blog/?p=595 It installs just fine but then asks for files like qtgui4.dll, qtnetwork4.dll, and several others. I figured if I downloaded the 1.5 installer from the main Marble download page and then overwrote a working 1.5 install that would work, but it did not. Marble 1.5 works out of the box. 1.8.3, not yet. A full install of QT would probably work as well, but that shouldn't be necessary. Thank you for doing this.
I just updated http://nienhueser.de/marble/marble-setup-1.8.3.exe to include Qt libraries. Can you give it another try? When 1.5 and 1.8 are installed in parallel Marble likely crashes on startup because some old plugins will confuse it.
There was only one missing file, qtxmlpatterns4.dll. Once I downloaded that dll 1.8.3 launched successfully. What I notice first is that most of the maps will not get created. "Marble needs to create this map. This only needs to be done once and may take a few seconds." If I hit the cancel button, the button just goes grey. I have to close the dialog with the X. I left that dialog sitting for several minutes on several maps. The only two maps that seem to work are Atlas, and Open Street Map.
Dennis, Can you add the file "qtxmlpatterns4.dll" to the install exe and let me try it again?
Thanks for testing. QtXmlPatterns4.dll is now included in http://nienhueser.de/marble/marble-setup-1.8.3.exe can you try it again?

Marble 1.8.3 works right out of the box without additional files.
