Description hotmusicfan 2014-04-18 15:31:50 UTC
Hello!

I am one of the many users who don't need PIM services and it will be very good if Akonadi becomes independent , resp. optional and removable component for those that doesn't want to manually turn off every thing that uses it and the service at all.

Thanks! :)

Reproducible: Always

Akonadi is already removable module. Just uninstall packages that provides Akonadi and KDE PIM on your distribution.

This is the current situation on Fedora.

Ask to fedora to split better package.
All kde-workspace doesn't depend against akonadi just clock which has a dependancy.
So it's a bug about distro not akonadi.
