Description Cal 2014-04-02 20:39:21 UTC
Hello,

I'm running Kubuntu saucy with the latest updates installed. This problem can be recreated with both the open source radeon driver, and the proprietary catalyst driver. However, the catalyst driver seems to have more severe issues. The video card is a Turks PRO, Radeon HD 6570 chipset, with 3 monitors attached. (Right most monitor is rotated 90 degrees)

When using the screen lock in KDE with the open source radeon drivers, unlocking the screen changes the size of the virtual desktop space. In this three monitor setup, the left monitor is correct, the center monitor is cut off in the middle of the screen, and the right monitor is unusable with graphic artifacts from the center monitor. (The mouse cursor can move to the middle of the center monitor only)

Additionally, the panels are moved to the left monitor. The only way to reset the display is to log out and in again. Then the panels are sometimes saved on top of each other on the left monitor and I have to move them back.

I have also tried this with the proprietary AMD driver. Same issue happens, but the AMD driver seems to have larger problems -- the screen order and rotation settings are changed around, and the entire display config needs to be set up again.

If this matters at all, the video problem seems to only occur after the screen lock has been on for 20 minutes or more. If I turn the lock on and immediately unlock, the displays remain correct.

Please let me know if you need any other information or screenshots.

Thank you!

The screen locker architecture changed with Plasma 5. The classic screen savers are no longer supported. The 4.x series won't see any further feature development, so this bug report won't be implemented as it doesn't apply to our current version any more.

I want to thank you for your bug report and for helping improving the quality of our software and I'm sorry that we were not able to provide a fix before we retired the affected component.
