Often when viewing a thread it is useful to look back on previous messages. However often they have been removed from your inbox and aren't in the current message list. It would be nice to have an option to view the complete thread that a message is in. Reproducible: Always A great example of a nice implementation of this feature is Thunderbird. Right-click on any message and select "Open Message in Conversation" and you get a window displaying the complete thread with messages from all folders.

Basically you can select any message and pull up a view that shows all of the messages in the thread. In this image you can see that I first select a message and click on the "Open Message in Conversation" context menu item. By doing that Thunderbird brings up a display with all of the messages that are in the same thread as the selected message. As I mentioned earlier this is useful as you often want to refer to older messages in a thread, but don't always have them in the same folder such that threaded view applies.
