Desktop: * Create "New Folder" * Open "New Folder" to Window 1 * Create "Text File" in Window 1 (it shows there) * Delete "New Folder" from Desktop * File disappears, but folder stays open. Expectation: Open window associated with the folder will disappear (or, perhaps, get a message at the top saying it is no longer usable and have the path be removed… ) Reproducible: Always
I see the bug is still present: https://youtu.be/y-5GEUtwySU Leads to other related oddities: files / folders not showing when they are created, etc.
Is "Window" a Dolphin window? If not, which application are you using to show the content of a folder?
Reproducible in Dolphin Plasma: 5.12.3 Apps: 17.12.3 Frameworks: 5.44.0 Qt: 5.10.1 Kernel: 4.14.27-1-MANJARO OS: Netrunner Rolling
Changing title, as this isn't really a bug but more of a request for a notification to inform the user that the current path doesn't exist anymore.

What do you mean by "more than just notifications"? In my opinion, simply closing the window is destructive and not very useful - the user might want to further use the window to navigate to a new path. An error is already displayed when you try to create a new file, which should be the expected behavior. So I personally think that if we had a notification box similar to the "permission denied" box that would pop up when the current path is deleted would fulfill this wish perfectly.
