Description John Hunter 2014-03-09 13:06:13 UTC
After reboot found the following:
Window had no frames; focus seemed to follow mouse (good); windows could not be resized or moved.
Could not have more than one desktop (instead of twelve)
Bottom panel chaos - icon order seemed to be random
could only have one application open at a time as everything was placed to the left of the screen.
Useful work impossible; could not run firefox to report this bug
To make this report I have had to fudge a system using an ex laptop disc in an USB enclosure.
System configuration:
ASUS machine, 1TB+2TB discs (plus 1TB 2.5" disc USB), 6GB ram, Intel i5-2320 cpu
screen 1680x1050
Kubuntu 14.04 beta-1 had been working OK for 4 days
Perhaps this needs to be copied to Canonical; (difficult with my makeshift system!)

I have tried again and have found more problems! Tried to load synaptic to effect an offered software update; couldn't get past the authentication dialog. Had to resort to recovery mode and run 'apt-get dist-upgrade'. Unfortunately the upgrade did not effect a solution.

If you still have issues with the official 14.04 release, please report each issue separately. Having multiple of them in one ticket makes it unmanageable in Bugzilla.
