On the latest stable release of Krita 2.8 for Windows x64 it appears that some toolbar settings (text position, icon size) are not working. This is likely a Windows-specific issue. It doesn't appear there are alternate ways to change these options. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right click on an empty spot on the main Krita toolbar 2. Try changing text position or icon size Actual Results: No change occurs to the toolbar appearance. Expected Results: Either these options should work as intended or not be displayed if they cannot be made so yet.
I can confirm... But apart from hacking out KDE's xmlgui library, I don't think we can actually fix it.
The toolbar is divided into two separate toolbar. The part with the resources is controlled by Krita and changing the icon size will not have any effect. The open and save button are in a different toolbar. If you want to change you have to right click direct on that.

Since 9fe05579967da30f0e3b66e7f06fbb438fb0ca01, the icon size setting now works fine on the brushes and stuff toolbar; text settings won't work. You need to restart Krita after changing the settings, I'm afraid.
Thank you! This will work great for touch tablet users!
I'm going to close this now; the text settings option isn't going to work for our own toolbar because of all the custom widgets, and the icon size option is the most important in any case.
