Description Alan Ott 2014-03-02 17:57:24 UTC
Recent case:
1. Task Manager Applet crashes and disappears
2. Restart KDE
3 The Task Manager Applet is not restored and is missing.
4. I try to add it back and spend time trying to figure out what it's called. Searching for "Window" (like window list) doesn't show it.
5. I can add the applet but it's added all the way on the right, and I can't move it back to the center, where it belongs.
6. I have to move all the applets I want to be on the right of the Task manager, one by one, to the right of the panel.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
"Happens every time" above means "happens every time an applet crashes."

Clearly if an applet crashes, it doesn't mean that I don't want it to ever come back.
Actual Results:
Applet never comes back

Expected Results:
Applet should come back

I've seen this problem for about 15 years.

Plasma 4 has been unsupported for several years. Haven't seen this happen in Plasma 5.
