Quick Chat does not open chat dialogue, and when it does, it is in read-only mode. Sometimes it opens and I can write, but the messages are not sent.

Thanks for the report. Unfortunately version 0.6 is out of our supported versions; we've just released 0.8 beta1, which fixes a looooot since 0.6. I would super strongly suggest to update. Which Kubuntu version are you running?

Oh and btw, really cool text-ui theme! Which one is it?

Regarding my Ubuntu is 12.04.3, KDE 4.12.2 from ppa https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports

KDE-telepathy from kde backports is 0.4.0, how I can get the last one??

Good news then, 0.8 /will/ be available for LTS soon, most probably via backports :)

Also kudos for going through the trouble of recording a video of the bug, appreciated.

Please update to 0.8 (the beta is versioned as 0.7.80) and reopen this bug if still happens. Thanks.

Hi @Rohan Garg, I received updates today, but there were no updates for kde-telepathy, yet 0.4. :(
