Description dvdmrs3rd 2014-02-25 06:53:14 UTC
When connecting any usb storage device system freezes on 14.04. Tried clean installs on different computers reproducible every time.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.turn on computer
2.connect usb or usb-hdd
3.frozen! pull plug and/or battery. repeat.
Actual Results:
Well frozen so I looked into it and downloaded ntfs-config from my package manager of choice and disabled automatic mounting and viola problem solved! now I can connect my usb / usb hdd without freezing

Expected Results:
Automatic mounting of usb devices shared between windows and linux doesnt make for a happy computer! so Disabling automatic mounting with ntfs-config solves this issue.

Is this issue only visible when using Plasma, or also with other desktops?
Comment 3 dvdmrs3rd 2014-02-27 09:10:16 UTC
I will have to check gnome and unity. As of right now I believe only plasma I will edit after checking.
