Description ggrocca 2014-02-04 23:03:55 UTC
The tab bar is sometimes useful in window mode, but I'd like for it to be hidden when I go fullscreen. An additional option to do just that would be awesome.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. tab bar is visibile
2. go fullscreen
Actual Results:
tab bar is still there

Expected Results:
hidden tab bar

It would be even better if the tab bar appears when the mouse goes to the upper border of the screen, with an autohide-like behaviour. iterm2 on macosx does something similar. Maybe not everyone would like this - an option to simply hide the bar when fullscreen would enough for me anyway. Thanks KDE developers for the fantastic work, by the way! :-)

Currently, Konsole 20.08.1 has a switch for a tab bar with the following options:

Show:
 (*) When needed
 ( ) Always
 ( ) Never

However, it still does not have an option to hide the tab bar in fullscreen mode only, nor does it handle mouse near border of the screen.

With recent versions, there's a remove window titlebar and frame option and as mentioned you can hide tabbar. Feel free to reopen if those options are still not what you want.
