My first look at Marble and it looks great - well done! I'm a 64-bit GNOME user frustrated with Google Earth. I like that Marble will open kml files but it would be nice to be able to 'toggle' the display of loaded maps and, if possible, selectively load folders within an individual kml file.

Which Marble version are you running? The older ones give you such a feature if you start marble with the --enableFileView parameter. Newer versions don't need that switch, you can enable this view in Settings => Panels => Files. With that view you can close opened files and also toggle which of their features (like folders) are shown.
