This has a workaround but is kinda awkward to activate, you need to go to View>New View and then press tab to show canvas only, this is a minor fix but it doesn't cover the navigator feature Reproducible: Always Expected Results: The navigator your let you see the whole drawing while you are working in a small area, the workaround let you see a small part it also allows editing that part It would be great if it also allowed to pick a zoom level in the navigator aside from the canvas size but is just a suggestion

Well, that doesn't do navigation, it just shows the whole image. But I think we already have a wish registered for this, I seem to remember discussing that last week. Weird... That is an oldish version, but 2.7 did have the overview docker. I have no idea why this doesn't show up for you -- best report it to Ubuntu, since it definitely is in the source code.
