When dophin is open in the background, the places panel slowly gets filled up with empty folders, without name. I can delete these folders, or give them a name, icon, ... if I want to But I have no idea where they are coming from. When I close and reopen dolphin all these folders are gone, but they will slowly start appearing again. When there are too many of them dolphin becomes totaly unusable, it doesn't respond to clicks or keypressed anymore and I have to kill it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open dolphin 2. wait 30 minutes Actual Results: see screenshot Expected Results: nothing should happen when the application is not being used I just filed another (much more severe) bug, maybe these 2 are related? see: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330588

Thanks for the bug report. I think that I've never heard of such a problem, so it seems that that there is something very unusual about your system that causes this behavior. Could you please follow the instructions at http://community.kde.org/Dolphin/FAQ/Freeze and try to get a backtrace while Dolphin is unresponsive?
Created attachment 84919 [details] backtrace while places panel is filled with empty folders (no dbg libraries) I guess this is not very usable, so I'll install some debugging libraries and try again...

I had this issue immediately occur as soon as I killed virtuoso-t (it was hogging all of my CPU cores)
Closing because of missing activity, virtuoso is no longer in use -> probably fixed.
