When the chat window has been filled with messages the following occurs,

every time a new message is received then the main area scrolls up in the beginning,
in order to watch the new arrived message the user has to manually scroll down
to the bottom to see the new message and respond

Reproducible: Always

It seems to work here.

Is this in the main chat window or the plasmoid.
Do you have a custom theme for chats?

Hello,

it is in the main chat window, it appears more often when the window loses focus.
The connections I use for telepathy are facebook and skype.

I use a custom theme for chats, i will update to default in order to provide more feedback.
I am open to live testing with any developer if it is needed.

I have just tested with Rankoo theme and this issue is not appearing! 
It was the theme choice
