Current kde telepathy Instant Messaging Contact plasma widget displays only contact avatar. But most of my contacts don't set the avatar, so looking at several widgets I can't distinguish which widget is for which contact, I see only equal plasmoids without any difference.

So will be good to have option for display contact name in widget instead of avatar (or over avatar image).

Also will be good to have an option for display contact status as icon like in contact list instead of colored border.

Dear user, unfortunately Telepathy is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
