Description alias.rw1@laposte.net 2014-01-19 20:46:47 UTC
1) lot of folders, sub folders, files on smb disk, for +/- 3GB
2) select all
3) copy them gives stranges and unlogical messages, lot of folders and files are not copied

* seems there is problem when file names include spaces and/or such characters : é, è, ...

* same copy runs well with the standard file manager of xubuntu on a netbook with xubutun
* same copy runs well with the kubuntu machine but with pcmanfm file manager

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. lot of folders, sub folders, files on smb disk, for +/- 3GB
2. select all (drag and drop)
3. copy them gives stranges and unlogical messages, lot of folders and files are not copied
Actual Results:
stranges and unlogical messages, lot of folders and files are not copied

Expected Results:
work like other file managers like pcmanfm,...

It makes sense to include these messages then, or a screenshot showing the error message.

In any case, this is most likely not a Dolphin bug. It might be a problem in kio_smb, which provides access to smb shares.

Just successfully copied a 1.5Gb folder full of files with accents and spaces in filenames onto my local machine without any issue using KDE Frameworks 5.47 and Dolphin 18.04.2. Let's assume that this was fixed somewhere along the way.
