Description Weng Xuetian 2014-01-17 19:13:31 UTC
When window is in normal mode, change to maximized shows the animation.
When window is in quick tile mode, change to maximized shows the correct animation.
When window is maximized, change to tiling mode by keyboard shows the wrong animation.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable maximized effect
2. Make a window maximized
3. Use keyboard to tile window left or right
Actual Results:
The animation shows that window changing from maximized to normal size and at the end of animation the window become tiled size immediately.

Expected Results:
The animation correctly shows the transition from maximized to tiling.

The behavior itself is correct.
Tiling breaks maximization, the window becomes restored (animated) then tiled (not covered by maxmimize animation effect)

What could be added would be a geometry blocker.

@Martin
technically a wish, but also a one-liner ;-)

No, it's not - my bad.

The maximize effect animates to the (internally stored) former size on maximization changes.
Different from the "animate everything what looks worthy" approach in be::animated, this will thus not benefit from such cover.

At best, it might be possible to cancel the animation on geometry changes that do not match the animation target geometry.

This issue report is quite old. Can you please confirm, that it still persists with Plasma 5.23?
