i do a fresh install of opensuse 13.1 then i do a fresh install of kde 4.12 then i configure kmail : i create 2 identities , different folders then i import my mails with kmail import tool from local-mail in my mandriva in another partition . all is ok . kmail runs well . i send mails , i receive mails . i can access to my mails in all of the folders , i can view , read them . after a while i see in kmail window all my folder are disappearing just in face of my eyes . it remain just local folders inbox sentbox outbox draft and all is empty i lost all my mails after that i create again identities and new folders and favorites but just after a few seconds all disappears then i used akonadiconsole to see what is the folder structures in akonadi : same . then i decide with akonadi to create again all my folders (not the default one) the first attempt to create a folder : the folder is created then disappears . after i can create all the folders i need . then i quit akonadiconsole then with kmail i finish to create count , filters etc . but when i go to scan the contents of ~/.local/share/local-mail/ folder there is nothing . it seems that all is stored in akonadi db . i checked that ~/.local/share/local-mail/ is the path for local folder my addressbook and my calendar are well duplicated in a local storage it seems that kmail has created the akonadi version of my folders but no local version . all is ok . kmail runs well . i send mails , i receive mails . i can access to my mails in all of the folders , i can view , read them . this morning i boot my pc then i open a kde session then have 2 notifications : Dossiers locaux : Le dossier « Maildir » « » pour la collection « » est non valable. Dossiers locaux : Le dossier « Maildir » « » pour la collection « » est non valable. in english : local folders : "Maildir" " " for collection " " is not a valid one . in "local-mail" there are : cur new tmp i am not alone with this problem with mandriva 2010.1 i686 , kde 4.8.4 (5 ?) no pb a sub-problem : how to populate local-mail from data in akonadi db ? This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
