Description Scorch 2013-12-29 01:04:28 UTC
There does not appear to be any system settings option to manually configure, find, or add scanners.
Drivers are installed but no "scanner" settings avaiable in system settings and unable to setup or use two different scanners connected to system.
Skanlite appears to be dreadfully lacking in devices listed therefore does not find them.

Reproducible: Always

Attempting to install and use scanner sections of two Multi Function Printers-
Canon "imageclass" MF5950DW and Epson "artisan" 730.
Both of these printers and drivers are installed, and working, but system fails to find or recognise the scanner sections of these two devices. . .

And skanlite says: "Check your systems scanner setup" but there is NONE!

Using Kubuntu 13.10 on a Dell Inspiron 660.
And may have to search for, and purchase, a third scanner just to scan documents on this OS. . .

And if there are any suggestions for really good printers and scanners that are Linux friendly, with drivers and interfaces, that are not totally limited to 'barebones" functions; any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kindest regards;
Scorch.
