Description Axel Krebs 2013-12-28 13:49:18 UTC
Several times I experienced resolved problems in new digiKam versions.

As I do _NOT_ want to harm a stable running system.

I'd like to ask for a reliable workflow to install new(est??) digiKam versions.
Preferable a well established procedure as PPA, e.g.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. urgent wish for installation of new, but _stable_ versions
2.
3.

Expected Results:
Easy to hndle procrdurte like ppa- repositories to install digiKam new versions..

Every new digiKam version fixes old bugs, but may also introduce new bugs, because the code is in constant development; there is no LTS version of digiKam offered by its developers.

Regarding ways to install digiKam, please ask in forums of your distribution; digiKam developers only offer source code, no packages.

Christoph:

Thanks for clarification.

Without knowing any details about packaging issues, I ask myself, if
providing standardized packages would be more than an automated task,
however. Maybe, I'm wrong.

Have a good New Years Eve!!!
