Description Geoffrey van Wyk 2013-12-17 01:46:34 UTC
When typing inside a multiline comment with * at the beginning of each line and pressing the <Enter> key, the line is automatically indented to match the previous line's indentation, and a * is automatically prepended to the line.

On the other hand, when allowing Static Word Wrap to automatically insert a newline character at the static word wrap marker, the newline is not indented, and an asterisk is not prepended.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure that Static Word Wrap is enabled.
2. Start a multiline comment with /* and start typing anything.
3. Continue typing, until you go beyond the static word wrap marker.
Actual Results:
Static Word Wrap automatically inserts a newline, but the new line is not indented, and an asterisk has not been inserted.

Expected Results:
The new line should be automatically indented to match the indentation of the previous line, and an asterisk should automatically be prepended to the line.

Dear user,

this wish list item is now closed, as it wasn't touched in the last two years and no contributor stepped up to implement it.

The Kate/KTextEditor team is very small and we can just try to keep up with fixing bugs. Therefore wishs that show no activity for two years or more will be closed from now on to keep at least a bit overview about 'current' wishs of the users.

If you want your feature to be implemented, please step up to provide some patch for it. If you think it is really needed, you can reopen your request, but keep in mind, if no new good arguments are made and no people get attracted to help out to implement it, it will expire in two years again.

We have a nice website kate-editor.org that provides all the information needed to contribute, please make use of it. For highlighting improvements our user manual shows how to write syntax definition files.

Greetings
Christoph
