Description Dilip 2013-12-12 01:23:07 UTC
ktorrent crashes immediately after pressing the open button or selecting file--> open. happens everytime. on a related note, similar thing happens in marble (selecting open crashes the app). i now notice that "open " menu item in file is missing from every kde app (gwenview okular marble )that i have.

Application: ktorrent (4.3.1)
KDE Platform Version: 4.11.2
Qt Version: 4.8.4
Operating System: Linux 3.11.0-12-generic i686
Distribution: Linux Mint 16 Petra

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open ktorrent
2. press open or select file -- > open
3.

Application: KTorrent (ktorrent), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".

> happens everytime

Is this a fresh installation or an update? If the latter, what did you update, and are all KDE packages installed correctly? It looks like an installation issue (not finding the kfiledialog module).
Comment 2 Dilip 2013-12-12 03:45:18 UTC
Its a fresh installation. gwenview okular etc worked perfectly until i installed ktorrent. i have tried reinstalling every kde app, but the problem remains.
Comment 3 Dilip 2013-12-12 03:47:00 UTC
ktorrent works if i launch it from the torrent file directly.
