When rotating images, it would be nice to have those changes saved automatically (not for other operations, just for rotating). It would also be nice to have it done in a background thread. Or you could add an option to enable this in settings.

Not sure this makes sense. No other file-based Linux or KDE app that I'm familiar with autosaves changes like this. People would be confused.
