One can do this in CMakeLists.txt ADD_EXECUTABLE(foo foo.c) ADD_TEST(NAME "test_foo" COMMAND foo) This works in the unit test plugin. Note that COMMAND in this case does not specify the executable name as it may look like: it specifies the _target_ to use. If I now move the ADD_EXECUTABLE() to a different CMakeLists.txt it will be built in another place, resulting in the testcase to fail when called from KDevelop because it looks for the executable in the wrong place. I suspect it will also fail if I give the executable a different output name, i.e. one that differs from the target name. Reproducible: Always
