When I upgraded my openSUSE distro from 12.2 to 13.1 digikam reports the following error:

QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in use, all queries will cease to work.
digikam(1165)/digikam (core): Schema update to V 7 failed! 

After confirming the error digikam starts, but the albums don't load.

I think I solved the problem. During reinstall, I somehow messed up the permissions and as a result I didn't have write permission for the digikam database. Once I fixed that digikam started normally, all albums and tags were loaded. 
Maybe the error reporting can be improved?
