- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I deinstalled Konqueror from the UBUNTU application manager then attempted to make firefox the default.  Obviously I did not  research enough before trying this.  KDE desktop crashed.  I am not sure  if this is a duplicate of other KDE crashes.  I have years of software experience, almost NONE with  any flavor of LINUX or open source  desktops.  Perhaps I know just enough to be dangerous.  I will attempt NOT to duplicate this crash, as I am just  busy setting up my desktop as a user to replace windoze.  I am willing to communicate and help to debug if this  would be useful to you
