Description Axel Krebs 2013-11-16 07:08:28 UTC
when stitching some pic into a panorama, digiKam produces very often nearly _quadratic_ pics.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. stitch some (jpg-)pics
2. start "automatic cutting" within image editor
3.
Actual Results:
very often, digiKam produces nearly quadratic pics, whereas original sizes are much mor longish - size relations of 1 : 3, 1 : 5 etc.

Expected Results:
images should be cut under the conduition to _maximize_ the produicesd pic-area.

(This could be achieved by "maximizing the two diagonals", e.g. see GIMP or others)

Axel,

The auto crop feature have been tested in goal to crop assembled panorama images with black holes border.

Which king of images do you want to crop ?
