Description bill p. (aka google01103) 2013-11-14 13:09:06 UTC
first mistakenly posted to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327579 and there has since had one person confirming it https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327579#c3

The mouse button is not functioning for some app widgets if they are hidden in the tray
not working properly:
- network management 0.9.3 no left but right works
- manage print jobs no left but right works
- Opera neither the left or right works
- HP systray neither the left or right works

works fine:
- kwallet
- kaption
- Kalarm
- Konversation
- Klipper

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. hide certain widgets
2. try to access
3.
Actual Results:
nada

Expected Results:
hidden widgets fully function as if not hidden

did not occur (iirc) until I upped to openSUSE 13.1GM yersterday but the other person experienced this with FF on Kubuntu 13.10

I can confirm the problem.

KDE apps seem to work fine in general, the problem only appears with certain system tray plasmoids (right-click does work for those but left-click not) and non-KDE apps (right and left-click show no response) AFAICS.

In addition to the above list I experience that with:
- Apper plasmoid
- aMule (Gtk)
- KSensors (a KDE3 app)

I also found out by accident, that the problem only appears when clicking on the text next to the icon (for KDE apps you can click there as well without any problem).

Clicking directly on the icon DOES work!

I confirm clicking on the actual icon works
