Description Yoav Luft 2013-11-11 08:11:32 UTC
When events (messages from docked application, etc) originate from the system tray and some other widgets (screen brightness widget, e.g.), the current application window loses focus, disrupting usage of the system, and focus has to be manually changed back to it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have some docked icon that will require focus - akonadi or device notification
2. Work on some application window when docked icon event comes up
3. Your current window should loose focus

Expected Results:
Notifications and such should never take focus from current working window.

I confirm that one. It's really annoying. I keep losing the focus all the time when a jabber message comes in for example. It kind of makes me upset. Please fix it!

Might be a duplicate of Bug 318350?

That issue is still present on plasma 5.

Hello!

This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug has already been resolved in Plasma 5.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
