It might seem as trivial, but in real world keyboards, at least here in Belgium, the letters with a combination of shift or shift lock are printed above the letters without the shift-combination key. The KDE preview of the keyboard layout shows them below. This is particularly confusing for the so called dead keys, which are always printed on the buttons of real world keyboards. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.select belgian keyboard layout 2.look at preview 3.compare with real world belgian azerty keyboard Actual Results: Dead keys that should be entered with a combination of shift and the key are shown below those without the shift combination key, while the real world keyboard shows them above. Expected Results: A preview is a representation of the real world keyboard, so should show the same.
We're gonna address it in a new feature done at GSoC that is being reviewed here https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/113413/
I have just checked in systemssettings from git master and I believe this is now fixed. They keys appear the same as the AZERTY layout on Wikipedia for Belgian. Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I'm setting status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" when you respond, thanks.
